La Perla

This percussive and vocal trio represents the Colombian Caribbean culture with a unique and innovative formula. La Perla draws from bullerengue, cumbia, merengue, gaita and creole champeta. The band features deep vocals and percussion played with a strong rock attitude.
The three Bogatanas have travelled from rural Colombia to the Caribbean, exploring multiple musical languages and incorporating them into their own creations, while singing about their social concerns, denouncing political problems, racial injustice and sexual discrimination.
